For those who wonder what my the title of my blog is...its latin. "IBIS IN CRUCEM" means, in approximate terms, "to be crucified". I thought i would use it because of late, i read a couple of books on christianity recently while i went on my spiritual journey to India. In it, i read the story of a catholic priest on his journey to find spirituality and then an account of a man trying to prove that Jesus lived in India. That the christ did not die on the cross but lived to a ripe old age hidden from view of the roman empire. And even as i write this blog, i am watching a program on the late Pope John Paul II who died exactly a year before this date. I was touched by wat a giant of a man he was. His words, his deeds, his life in general was filled with spirituality. And that is wat touches me most. The love of god that the late Pope exuded is wat should illuminate our lives; not arguments as to whether his god is not as powerful as mine or where i should wage war to punish the insolence of the pple who slighted god. These are the petty postulations of men who cannot see beyond their own shadow the brilliance of god. We are in a an age where spirituality is limited in the world and the vices run unchecked and we seem to revel in such a lifestyle and people such as Pope John Paul II, Mother Theresa, Prophet Mohammed, Sri Ramakrishna are these beacons of light that we should gravitate towards so that we may experience some bit of the glory of god.
And now that i've got my most pressing issues out...i have to tell u all that this blog was actually created so that the RJ softball team of 2003, the ball brudder brokeback club as we call ourselves will always be tog no matter our geographical location at any given time. Cheers!
